The Eighth Sin

The Eighth Sin

So, today’s daily prompt is “Remember the seven cardinal sins? You’re given the serious task of adding a new one to the list — another trait or behavior you find particularly unacceptable, for whatever reason. What’s sin #8 for you? Why?

ok.. So… I’m not really a bible person, although I graduated from Christian high school. I did have exams on Bible and I have read the Bible for countless of times. Still, I am a science person. Anyway, the eighth sin… Let’s see what are the first seven sins: Lust, Gluttony, Greed, Laziness, Wrath, Envy and Pride.

Now I’ll say the eighth one is Jealousy.

Isn’t that same as Envy? You may ask…

Well, not really.. Envy is a two person situation. Envy occurs when we lack a desired attribute enjoyed by another. Jealousy however, is a three person situation. Jealousy occurs when something we already possess (usually a special relationship) is threatened by a third person.

Basically, relationships…

Jealousy leads to many horrible actions. Humans tend to lean towards bad decisions. If a person feels jealous about someone’s relationship. They tend to hope it will break or find ways to break it. And the results are usually disastrous. I’ve had that kind of thoughts. Even though I’ve never done it before, thoughts are always in my mind. There is always an evil within us. I’m just glad I could hold it inside me… I feel guilty. Nonetheless, I am still jealous.

Of what? Well, that’s another story.. So I’ll just leave it here.. We’ll talk about it next time.
